The Vidyalaya is under administrative control of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, New Delhi, Which is under the Ministry of Human Resources. And primarily caters to the educational need of the children of Central Govt. Employee, including Defense Personnel liable to frequent transfers throughout the country. The aim of Kendriya Vidyalayas is to provide education according to the Principles of the New Education Policy, to bring out the best and noblest qualities in children, to infuse in its students a feeling of patriotism, brotherhood and national integration so as to make them good and loyal citizens.

Date of opening of KV: 02nd October 1982.

This Kendriya Vidyalaya started its journey from 02 October of the academic year 1981-82 with single section from Class I to IX. Initially it was established temporarily in old Army Barracks of Record Dogra Regiment Centre, near Gurudwara. First batch of Class X appeared in CBSE exam in March 1983. The Kendriya Vidyalaya had been shifted in new Army Barracks of DRC at Parade Ground in the year 1984, from its Original setup.

Senior Secondary Section of Vidyalaya had been started with Class XI (Science) in the year 1986-87 and it was further expanded to Class XI (Arts) in the year 1988-89. The school continued its journey of development and grown into three section school and afterwards into four section school. Passing through different policies of KVS, it is finally modified in a two section school in the year 2000-01 and continuing with the same, with approximately 1000+ students at present.

K.V Faizabad has a magnificent, neat and tidy building. Vidyalaya building is equipped with modern gadgets/ infrastructural facilities necessary for facilitating teaching and learning process.

Vidyalaya runs a canteen to provide quality and nutritious food items to the students during lunch hour. The canteen is inspected regularly by a team of teachers deputed for the purpose to ensure health and hygiene.
